Urgency - we believe that every lesson counts and encourage all children to attend school on time.
At Angel Oak Academy, children are welcome to come into school as soon as the gates open at 8.45am and the school day begins at 8.50am. This allows them to complete early-morning work and settle into their day calmly. Children who arrive after 9am are marked as 'late' and those arriving after 9.30am are marked as 'late after registration'.
Staff will always be present at the gate to greet children coming into school and to support our expectations of looking smart and being ready for learning.
The school day begins at 8.50am and finishes at 3.15pm.
At the end of the school day, pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 can be collected from their classrooms. Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 line up with their teachers until they are safely dismissed to parent, carer or authorised person.
We ask that you let us know in advance by calling the academy office if someone new is going to collect your child or if you are going to be delayed at the end of the day. Please note that no person under the age of 18 may collect a child from school.
Only Year 6 children with written permission can make their own way home. We will not allow any Year 6 child to go home unaccompanied without this information from their parents or carers.
