Below is a short bio of our lead staff members at Angel Oak.
My name is Joan Priestley and I am the catering manager for Angel Oak Academy.
I started working in school kitchens as a kitchen assistant over 35 years ago and I have worked my way up to a catering manager.
My day to day duties include providing hot food for the breakfast club, preparing and cooking the lunch for 360 pupils and staff. Ordering of all the stock and the management of my 6 members of my catering team and the general running of the kitchen.
Food has always been a passion of mine and I am constantly seeking out new recipes for the salad bar.
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the children enjoying their lunches.
Assistant Catering Manager
My name is Ashleigh Priestley. I am the assistant catering manager at Angel Oak Academy.
I have been in catering for the past 11 years and my daily duties include assisting the catering manager with providing a healthy lunch for 360 children & staff. I also assist with the running of the kitchen.
I enjoy making the desserts, but most of all I enjoy knowing that the children and staff enjoy the meal we provide.

STEP Catering Manager
I have worked for STEP since April 2012 and I manage all of our on site catering teams.
I have worked in catering for over 12 years and enjoy working with the kitchen staff and being part of STEP.
Our aim is to encourage children to make healthy choices, but also giving them the opportunities to experience a wide variety of different cuisines.
STEP Deputy Catering Manager
I have worked for STEP 2012 within one of our kitchens. But in April 2015 I moved onto the role of Deputy Catering Manager.
I have been in catering for over 10 years.
My role involves working with our catering teams across STEP to ensure the smooth running of our kitchens and lunch times.
