Leadership Team

Claire Mitchell is Head Teacher at Angel Oak Academy.

For the last 15 years, Claire has taught in south London primaries improving outcomes from Reception to Year 6.  Claire joined STEP Academy Trust in 2016 and has previously held leadership positions at both La Fontaine and David Livingstone Academies, most recently in the Head of School role.  During her time as Deputy Headteacher at David Livingstone Academy, the school was judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted.

Claire holds a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology from The University of Liverpool and obtained a PGCE in Primary Education at The University of Worcester.  She completed The Outstanding Teacher Programme endorsed by The National College and the Teaching Leaders course through Future Leaders.  Claire has been awarded the NPQH.
