The main aim of art is to engage children with a set of skills and knowledge so that they feel confident in analysing, evaluating, creating and talking about visual arts.
The main strands of the curriculum are knowledge, skills, and evaluation. We aim to give children key knowledge that will inform their skill development. The component of evaluation runs alongside both knowledge and skills as we expect children to evaluate their own artwork, the artwork of their peers, and artwork seen in the wider context of the world.
