Last week, three of our Year 5 children were shortlisted in a writing competition organised by the Mary Seacole Trust. Their task was to write about someone who has inspired them in the face of adversity. Their writing was read by a panel of judges who placed them in the top ten of all the entries.
We all met at the new Mary Seacole statue in St. Thomas’ Hospital for photographs then walked over Westminster bridge to the House of Lords. We had a lovely evening listening to inspirational speakers like Dame Elizabeth Anionwu.
We were delighted when the results were announced that Chaka-Tau won a runner up prize! We are so proud of all our finalists who are a credit to our academy and an inspiration to us all. Well done!
